Red Letter Media does not do ordinary movie reviews.

They are few, long, in video format and well-made. Also thoroughly analysed and very funny, with some material that has nothing to do with the movie.

The premise is that the person who films them is a serial killer, and you get to see some of his real life too.

A spider decided to commit suicide by jumping in a bowl of water and soap left overnight to soak in our sink. I think the soap reduces the surface tension so a small object that would float without soap, like a spider, sinks.

Not that the spider wanted to float, I guess. It was just stupid, bored or drunk, and was naturally selected not to contribute to the gene pool of the local population.

My wonderful housemates left it for me so that I can see it, because the suicide happened while I was away in Sheffield.

Excellent Kung-Fu movie by Rogue productions. They even dub themselves to give it a more ‘chinese kung-fu film’ feel!

This is one of the times something made sense because someone was better at me at expressing something I had independently (perhaps almost) concluded and experienced for myself.

The talk is about achieving or being in flow. I sometimes achieve it when writing, it happened to me during an aikido grading where I was feeling invincible while being thrown around continuously, sometimes even when doing lab work with a protocol I have mastered and trying to beat my previous record.

Now that I know about it, I can consciously strive to achieve being in flow more often.

Get an ancient photo of yourself in an environment that has not changed much. Find the same or similar clothes. And take the same pose as in the past.

The result is back to the future.

I should definitely do something like that.
