Here is a way to make mp3 out of news articles. It allows me to reduce browsing time and listen to news while I do something else, such as being in the lab. This looks like a lot, but once you get the hang of it, it is very fast.

1. Safari

Open the news articles of interest. It there are many command-click to open them in separate tabs.

Simplify formatting and get rid of commercials by entering reader mode Cmd-Shift-R.

If you like reading on paper, or find proof-reading working better on paper, or like the idea of making booklets that kind of stay together without binding as a consequence of them being folded, you will enjoy Cheap Impostor.

Cheap Impostor is a mac program that allows to print in half the size of A4, and lays out the pages so they fit in booklet created by folding the printed pages in two.

It also makes printing cards easy.

TransferWise

If you have an international lifestyle and often transfer money between currencies, you will be interested to know about Transferwise.

It is a company that allows to transfer money with the standard exchange rate, instead of the cheating one that banks use. They still make money by retaining a commission, but it works out much cheaper than a bank. It was started by the founder of another innovative company you may have heard of, Skype.

The way it works is that they never make a conversion, they keep multiple currencies from their users and transfer money between currencies when they have both available. It is still fast and well communicated.
